Steigende Preise sowie unsichere Verf\u00fcgbarkeiten stellten weite Teile der Industrie vor ernste Herausforderungen. Der Pr\u00e4sident des Verbandes der Chemischen Industrie (VCI) Markus Steilemann bezeichnete bei der Jahrespressekonferenz in Frankfurt die Lage seiner Branche als dramatisch: \u201eDie enormen Energiepreise, aber auch die Preissteigerungen von Rohstoffen und Vorprodukten machen der industriellen Basis unseres Landes schwer zu schaffen\u201c, so Steilemann. Dringend gebraucht werden daher L\u00f6sungen, um zeitnah Gas und Kosten einzusparen. Umso h\u00e4rter trifft die aktuell weiterhin angespannte Lage auf dem Gasmarkt Unternehmen aus dieser Branche. Denn Gas ist in der Chemieindustrie nicht nur wichtigster Energietr\u00e4ger, sondern auch Rohstoff f\u00fcr viele Produkte wie Ammoniak. Das Problem: Abschalt- oder Drosselungsvorg\u00e4nge aufgrund einer Gasmangellage sind nicht nur zeitaufwendig und kostspielig f\u00fcr die <a href=\"\/de\/industrie\/chemische-industrie\/\">Chemieindustrie<\/a> selbst, sondern haben au\u00dferdem Produktionsengp\u00e4sse in nachgelagerten Branchen zur Folge. \u201eChemie steckt in fast allen Gegenst\u00e4nden des t\u00e4glichen Bedarfs. Eine wirtschaftliche Schieflage der Branche w\u00fcrde zu Versorgungsengp\u00e4ssen in allen Lebensbereichen f\u00fchren\u201c, erkl\u00e4rt VCI-Pr\u00e4sident Steilemann.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>Auch f\u00fcr 2023 erwartet der VCI aktuell keine Besserung der Lage. Die Experten prognostizieren einen weiteren kr\u00e4ftigen Produktionsr\u00fcckgang in der chemisch-pharmazeutischen Industrie. Im schlimmsten Fall droht ein langfristiger Verlust von Wettbewerbsf\u00e4higkeit und Arbeitspl\u00e4tzen. Gasbefeuerte Kessel k\u00f6nnen durch E-Boiler ersetzt werden. Doch dies wird den Strombedarf der chemischen Industrie erheblich nach oben treiben. Daher ist es auch im Hinblick auf die Dekarbonisierungsziele der Unternehmen besonders wichtig, Strom aus erneuerbaren Quellen zu nutzen \u2013 und das so effizient wie m\u00f6glich.<\/p><p>Mit thermischen Energiespeichern k\u00f6nnen Chemieunternehmen Wind- und Solarenergie nutzen, um Prozessw\u00e4rme oder -dampf zu erzeugen, ohne sich dabei von der volatilen Verf\u00fcgbarkeit dieser regenerativen Energiequellen abh\u00e4ngig zu machen. Energie wird, sobald sie verf\u00fcgbar ist, in W\u00e4rmespeichern wie der <a href=\"\/de\/thermal-battery\/\">ThermalBattery\u2122<\/a> von ENERGEYNEST gespeichert und auf Abruf zur Verf\u00fcgung gestellt.
